Signing up for the site.

It's come to my attention that people may be having potential problems signing up for the site. If you are a visitor and end up here and cannot sign up for some reason or another, please feel free to email me at Image and let me know what kinds of errors you are getting and I will do whatever I can to troubleshoot it with the people who host the software. They are usually very responsive.

Many apologies in advance if you have had or are having issues. To my knowledge they are isolated events without explanation as of right now.

For a few reasons, the forums are now private. You cannot read them unless you have a registered account.

I've pruned the list of members as well. If someone has signed up and has zero posts in the last year, I just deleted the account. They can always re-join if they decide they want to be a part of the site.

There are only a few people on the member list who I don't know. I emailed James to ask him to identify himself. He's temporarily deactivated, but will activated once I figure that out. I don't know jtran, but he/she sounded like a friend of swest's so that should be good to go.

The downside is that this way makes it less easy for someone to come in and read the site and lurk around before deciding to join, unfortunately. Users will sign up and then I'll get notified to approve them. If anyone wants a friend or peer to join, just let me know and I'll approve the user when they join.

Carry on, gents!

Did something happen to cause the policy change?

There may have been some people lurking that were causing a residual effect on some posters here. No idea if that is what is/was happening, but I decided to err on the side of caution.
